A pure white, Dove is as soft as a feather from a dove’s wing, drifting down onto the lawn.

Soft enough for the very first days, warm enough for the windiest walks.

  • The world's softest wool: Italian merino, gentle on a newborn's head
  • Naturally breathable: holds warmth outdoors without overheating
  • Made to match: coordinates with our merino gilet and mittens
  • For outdoors: take it off indoors and always before sleep

We spent two years developing our own merino with a specialist Italian mill, to create the world's softest wool.

  • Two years in the making: developed and refined with our mill until the softness and strength were just right
  • Fine fibres: gentle against the most delicate skin
  • Naturally temperature-regulating: holds warmth in the cold, lets heat escape as things warm up
  • Breathable: comfortable all day, without overheating
  • Lined in 100% cotton: a soft, breathable layer next to the skin

Made in Portugal by a third-generation, family-run babywear maker, trusted by premium and luxury brands for nearly 40 years.

  • Every step under one roof: a fully vertical mill, from yarn and fabric to the finished piece, so nothing leaves their care
  • Made to the strictest baby standard: every baby piece they make meets OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class I, the toughest level, set for babies
  • Independently audited: ISO 9001 for quality, ISO 14001 for environmental care, and BSCI and Sedex for fair, safe working conditions
  • European craftsmanship: made to European standards, for the people who make it and the planet

Merino looks after itself more than you'd think: wash less, air more.

  • Finding the right size: see the size guide, and if they're between sizes, size up
  • Air between wears: hang it in fresh air and it comes back feeling fresh, so it rarely needs a full wash
  • When it does: wash at 30°C, inside out, with a gentle liquid wool detergent. No softener, no bleach
  • Drying: reshape while damp and let it dry naturally, away from radiators. Never tumble dry
  • A little bobbling is natural: it's common in the first few wears, and a wool comb lifts it away
  • Before sleep: take merino layers off indoors and before sleep, so they don't overheat
  • Keep away from fire

The details

Soft enough for the very first days, with teddy bear ears for every adventure after. Knitted from Italian merino and finished under one roof in Portugal, it keeps little heads warm and breathing easy, even after being flung from the pram.

Our Italian Merino

A newborn hat sits against the most delicate skin, so we were particular about the yarn. We spent two years developing our own merino with a specialist Italian mill: the world’s softest wool, fine enough to feel like nothing at all.

Made in Portugal

Every beanie is made in Portugal by a third-generation, family-run babywear maker, trusted by premium and luxury brands for nearly 40 years. Each one is knitted and finished under one roof, to the strictest standards for babies.

Breathable Warmth

Merino holds warmth outdoors and lets excess heat escape, so little heads stay comfortable without overheating. Soft, light and naturally breathable, it’s the newborn hat that grows into a toddler favourite (provided it survives being flung from the pram).

Customer reviews

Why it's important

“For a newborn, softness comes first. Merino’s finer fibres are gentle against the most delicate skin, and it regulates temperature beautifully outdoors.”
